Why
Recruiters are Worth What They Charge
By:

"When
I need a heart by-pass, rest assured I won't select my surgeon
based on what he charges." That's what an ailing executive
recently opined when his doctor informed him of his arterial
blockage problems.
Why
then are corporate executives so tightfisted when dealing
with what is so commonly considered the "lifeblood" of a
company …top-talent? Companies think very little about paying
the high fees charged by outside accounting and legal firms…or
even paying the gaggle of consultants who promise cost-cutting
and streamlining miracles in other areas. Yet, when faced
with brain drains, talent deficiencies, or the need to replace
one employee with another, thoughts all too often turn to
parsimony.
This
K-mart mentality belies and contradicts the corporation's
stated objective of "hire the best" -- especially at pecking
order levels below the "big picture" executive suite. So
why are recruiters worth what they charge? Just a few of
the often unspoken reasons follow...

Why
Background Checks? Five Reasons
By:
Joel Golberg |
|
Have
you ever hired someone you thought was going to be awesome,
but who turned out to be awful?
The
answer could lie in the fact that 33% of job applications
are falsified; up to 70% contain inaccuracies; and 20% of
adults in the United States have criminal records. What
can you do to fight fraud and have more confidence in your
hires?
A
background check performed by an outside pre-employment
search company can help you cut costs, save money, and avoid
litigation.

Tips: Use Web Content Like a Pro |
|
Are
you using the web to your best advantage? The universality
of HTML makes it possible to enhance your communications
with web content and graphics. Copy, save, and paste entire
pages, or parts of pages, into your documents -- whether
they be in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
Use web content and graphics to enhance your e-mails, presentations,
or even to tip off a friend or colleague about a hot site.
Whether
you are an Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator user,
saving and manipulating web content is very similar to manipulating
(cutting and pasting) content in MS Word:
I.
Copy and Save an Entire Web Page
- Locate
and open the page you would like to save.
- Point
your mouse to the "File" menu on your browser
toolbar.
- Scroll
down and select "Save As."
- Follow
the pop-up window's instructions to name and save the
page.
- Once
saved, attach the page to an e-mail, or cut and copy parts
of it into other documents, (see below).
II.
Copy and Save Part of a Web Page
- Open
the web page or saved page (see above) you would like
to copy from.
- Select
the text or graphic you would like to duplicate by right
clicking and dragging your mouse over the desired area.
- Once
highlighted, select "Copy" from the "Edit"
menu on your browser toolbar, or else right click on your
mouse to call up "Copy" from the short-cut menu.
- Once
copied, open the target document you would like to paste
to and select "Paste" from the "Edit"
menu on your browser toolbar, or else right click on your
mouse to call up "Paste" from the short cut
menu.
